PROFILE

I have more than a decade of experience in budgeting, designing, implementing and
managing complex web application projects. I have expertise managing high tech clients and
leading teams in web development. I plan to apply my background and experience in web
technologies toward sustainable business ideas.

EXPERIENCE

PRESIDENT/FOUNDER, NETSPROUT, INC. SAN FRANCISCO, CA 2001-2008
• Under my leadership and vision, Netsprout focused on building complex Web 2.0
applications and applying simple and intuitive web interfaces for projects including The
Webby Awards’ complete submission and voting management systems, Autodesk’s Family
Minder, CampusU’s social networking, Online News Association’s submission and voting
management system, IRA Services’ user account access, Vend Marketing Institute’s survey
and training tools and San Francisco Arts Commission’s blog and hosting solutions.
• Led company's growth from a personal web development contracting business to a
successful incorporated organization.
• Managed business development. Skills included creating proposals, requirements
documents, project scope documents and creating strategy guidelines to help us clearly
focus on our market. Resulted in retaining over 50 clients.
• Managed daily business operations including budgeting, bookkeeping, and project
management.
• Controlled all aspects of human resources including recruiting and hiring 7 employees,
defining roles and responsibilities, and implemented a goal/milestone program to
encourage growth.
• Guided the company to remain a technology leader by constantly evaluating new
technology trends in the market and provided training to employees so they would be ready
for new demands.
• Communicated with clients to establish deliverables and schedules and to understand
budget. Translated these findings into a project scope that internal employees could
understand and implement.
• Supervised a team of programmers. Because of my strong understanding of the
technology, I was able to work closely with designers and programmers and offer valuable
guidance and support during development, testing and delivery of projects.
• Applied my knowledge of a wide range of open source technologies including Ruby on
Rails, PHP, Perl and MySQL to build Software as a Service (SaaS) applications. Our sites
and applications were designed using standards based markup and our development
process included version control, deployment automation and unit testing.
